Absolutely Bucharest

Absolutely Bucharest

A classic tour with a new perspective

Bucharest’s major sites revealed

the city & the tour

Bucharest is a city of strong contrasts. – A relatively young city with old mentalities; right at the gates of the Orient, hopelessly influenced by the West and belonging in fact to neither.
We have teamed up with one of the most respected urban historians, Ms Anita Sterea, to give you the most comprehensive and entertaining walking tour.
If the world is a stage then, for sure, Bucharest deserves its place in the spotlight. It had it all:
Love, betrayal, conquering Russian tsarists , French Vaudeville, merchants of Venetian goods, Greek tragedies and one or two Great Fires for good measure.
A miniature of Paris perhaps, only with much better weather.

Bucharest at a glance

The city is rapidly gaining attention as a competitive city break that blends the wonders of modern Europe with the far flung exotism of the East

Find out about street art, fashion, emerging artists, hidden historical gems and the latest trends in this 3.5 h. walking tour. Discover some cool hang-out places on the way, and sample the most popular street snack: “covrigi”.

The guide

The tour is hosted by Anita Sterea

Anita is a professional guide with a PHD in History and a MA in International Relations.

Beginning with 2009 she started hosting a series of cultural expeditions in and around Bucharest. These were practically discovery tours of the beautiful sites this city has to offer, but mainly aimed at locals and in Romanian

Now we will apply the same concept of cultural tour but this time it will be tailored for English speaking foreign visitors.
