We know very well how hard the process of searching for an accommodation for your city break can be. A lot of options, different prices or mixed reviews might set you wondering. We lived it, so we thought you might need a good recommendation of hostels in Bucharest.

A nice place to rest is mandatory for a complete experience as a traveler. Regarding your discoveries of the city or interesting walking tours, we at Interesting Times Bureau are fully responsible for that, while our friends from the hostels make sure you’ll be cheerful on the tour.

  1. Pura Vida chain of hostels and apartments have the best locations in town. Two of them are right in the heart of the Old Town, on Smardan Street. Little Bucharest Hostel is located at number 15, while Pura Vida Sky Bar & Hostel is a couple of blocks away, at number 7. Quick access at the metro, great staff and the central area that gets you quickly to the main spots of interest, makes them top-of-choice. Besides that, both hostels have events or common areas open to locals – a sky bar and a tea room – so they offer a good start to meet our people.
  2. The Cozyness is a quiet but funky place, in a local house, hidden by the ugly communist blocks. Their small size rooms and the cozy common area will instantly help you get to know the staff or the other guests. You might have the feeling of a shared flat with your friends, not a hostel. The nearby Tineretului park offers the perfect escape for your morning run or just to have some thoughts with yourself.
  3. Umbrella Hostel or a place for romantic, bohemian or even solo-traveler explorers of Bucharest. Known for their cleanliness and simplistic wood interior design, we might say that this hostel is perfect for order lovers. They offer good facilities of internet access and in addition, it is an easy walk to the main attractions of the easy. Victory Way, one of the oldest streets in Bucharest, is quite close, full of shops, brands and coffee.
  4. Midland Hostel  is also located in a 19th-century building of the same historical area as Umbrella Hostel. Their dorms are big and aired, renovated in a young, simple style. Because of their bright and welcoming lounge, there is no chance to not get to know all the other guests. A beautiful skylight in the center, the reception and their friendly staff or lots of magazines and books that are in the room, will provide a great place to relax.

You probably noticed how we were not afraid to mention the lovely and friendly staff for every hostel example. In this regard, don’t hesitate to ask at the reception about what you can do or where is the best place to party around the city, they might even accompany you. Also, ask about our special tours – they might know some particular offers.
